Market Intelligence Summary

  • NR: For Jammu and Kashmir, although their average power requirement from the central grid remained almost same since their procurement from central power generating station had increased namely from Rihand 1,2,3 TPS which had caused them to reduce its procurement from IEX from 5.6 MUs to 0.5 MUs.
  • NR: As 700 MW unit of Rajpura Thermal Power Station got revived in Punjab on 8th May 2017(night) this will generate 10-12 MUs for the state and reduce its dependency from central grid and its effect might be seen on short-term OA market.
  • SR: As 520 MW unit of Hinduja TPS got revived on 9th May 2017(night) which was under shut down from 16th of last month, this help state to increase its instate generation during peak hours. And 210 MW unit of Rayalaseema TPS got revived on 8th May 2017(afternoon) this overall scenario should reduce state dependency from short-term OA(mainly from IEX).
  • Rainfall: Possibility of rainfall in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh,Uttarakhand,  Jammu and Kashmir Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
