Market Intelligence Summary

  • Demand at IEX was up marginally at 184 MUs while supply increased sharply to cross 200 MUs-mark for the first time in four trading sessions. Sales increased significantly from N2 and W2 regions with sales from N1 hitting multi-day low. All-India RTC clearing price dropped marginally to Rs 3.36/kWh.
  • NORTHERN REGION: A 250 MW unit of Panipat TPS in Haryana and a 130 MW unit of NTPC Dadri in Uttar Pradesh was shutdown due to low demand.
  • IMD WEATHER FORECAST: 11 August — Extremely heavy rainfall expected in Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh and northern West Bengal; heavy rainfall expected in Himachal Pradesh, western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand. 12 August — Extremely heavy rainfall expected in Bihar; heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
