Market Intelligence Summary

  • LTOA/MTOA: Andhra Pradesh had increased power procurement under medium-term OA from KSK Mahanadi. Now total quantum in a transaction between two entities had reached to 400 MW in RTC. This will affect the short-term OA market between WR to SR and may cause increased congestion between the regions at IEX.  
  • NR:As 700 MW unit of Rajpura Thermal Power Station got revived in Punjab on 9th May 2017(night), this will again cause the state to increase its procurement from IEX.
  • WR:A 600 MW unit of DB Power got shut down on 10th May 2017(night) due to flame failure. This affects their IEX sales from the region and Maharashtra will also get affected as they were under short-term OA agreement for 130 MW in RTC.  
  • Rainfall:Possibility of rainfall in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand,  Jammu and Kashmir Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
