Market Intelligence Summary

  • NR: As the power requirement for Rajasthan got increased from 2970 MW/hr to 3096 MW/hr, so they had increased the bilateral procurement from Dainik Bhaskar Power Limited Power plant from Chhatisgarh. And reduced procurement from IEX.
  • NR: Power requirement for Haryana had increased from 3038 MW/hr to 3261 MW/hr, but since they have increased procurement from the central power station and from long-term OA market, so they are selling the surplus energy at IEX.
  • SR: A 500 MW unit of Vallur Thermal Power Station got closed on 14th November 2016 due to boiler tube leakage.
  • SR: Since the power procurement from Ramagundam STPS, Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited TPS and Simhadri STPS got decreased for Karnataka, so they had increased power procurement from IEX.
  • SR: For Telangana, IEX procurement had reduced which might have caused because their power procurement from Simhadri STPS and NLC Expansion unit got increased.
  • WR: A 600 MW unit of DB Power from Chhattisgarh power plant got closed on 13th November 2016.
  • Rainfall: Possibility of rainfall in isolated part of Central Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
