Market Intelligence Summary

  • NR: Delhi, as average power requirement from the grid, had increased but as their procurement from the central generating station and from long-term OA, the market had reduced which may have caused them to reduce their sales at IEX.
  • SR: For Tamil Nadu, as the power procurement had increased from central power station namely Neyveli Lignite Corporation TPS, Simhadri TPS and Vallur TPP and from long-term OA (DP Power, GMR Warora Energy Limited) and medium-term OA (Coastal Enrgen). This had caused them to reduce their procurement from the bilateral market at IEX.
  • SR: At central level 750 MW units got revived on 28th November 2016 which included 250 MW unit of NLC expansion and 500 MW unit of Value At the state level, 812 MW units got revived which included 600 MW unit of Coastal Enrgen.
  • WR: A 300 MW unit of GMR Warora Energy Limited got revived on 28th November 2016 which was under shut down from 25th this month due to turbine vibration problem.
  • Rainfall: Possibility of rainfall in isolated parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh Karnataka and Kerala.
