Market Intelligence Summary

  • With demand exceeding supply all-India RTC clearing price jumped 6.6% to 12-day high of Rs 3.73/kWh. Total buy bids volume increased 15% to 194 MUs, the highest since 8 August. Total sell bids volume, however, declined marginally to 182 MUs. Telangana, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh increased procurement with Uttar Pradesh almost doubling the procurement.
  • NORTHERN REGION: A 210 MW unit of NTPC Dadri was revived on 6 September, the unit had earlier been shut due to low demand in Delhi. 
  • WESTERN REGION: A total of 2,850 MW capacity was revived in the western region on 5 September. These included three units of 600 MW capacity or more of NTPC Mouda, KSK Mahanadi and Koradi TPS owned by Maharashtra SEDCL.   
  • IMD WEATHER FORECAST: 7 September — Heavy rainfall expected in southern Karnataka and all north-eastern states except Arunachal Pradesh. 8 September — Heavy rainfall forecasted in all north-eastern states except Arunachal Pradesh.
