Market Intelligence Summary

  • All-India RTC clearing price shot up to nearly two-year high as supply dipped below demand once again. Clearing price jumped 6% even through demand fell over 7% to 180 MUs and supply collapsed 19%. Some sellers that reduced sales significantly include Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
  • WESTERN REGION: A total of 2,096 MW capacity was revived in the western region on 6 September. These included a 660 MW unit of Adani Tiroda and a 270 MW unit of Rattan India, both in Maharashtra. On 7 September, a 660 MW unit of Adani Mundra and a 660 MW unit of Koradi TPS (Maharashtra) were shutdown due to technical issues.
  • IMD WEATHER FORECAST: 8 September — Heavy rainfall forecasted in coastal and central Maharashtra and all north-eastern states except Arunachal Pradesh. 9 September — Heavy rainfall expected in coastal and central Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and all north-eastern states except Arunachal Pradesh.
