Short Term Bilateral: With the start of a new month, new agreements and contracts were executed in the bilateral power market. Some states in the northern region increased their procurement sharply through swap agreements with other discoms. Discoms in the southern region also increased procurement from private sector generators.

Power Exchanges: Demand in the day-ahead market at IEX slipped below 100 MUs while supply surged to over 170 MUs. In the absence of high congestion, prices came under pressure and fell to Rs 2.35/kWh. This was the fourth consecutive session when all-India RTC clearing price was lower than 5, 10, and 30-day exponential moving average.
